CHRISTIAN LIFE

INTRODUCTION;

Just like rain falling on dry land and making it fruitful, so it is when a person becomes a CHRISTIAN. This is the beginning of a new living relationship based on the LOVE and GRACE of Jesus Christ! (1 John 4:10,... Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.)

A Christian is a person who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and has started a new life living in union with Him.

Christianinty is not just about believing the truth - it's about Living It. It is not just about justification - It Is about Sanctification. If we have never given our life to the Lord personally and have never accepted his grace, then we will never be able to live a Christian Life. But if Christ has saved us, then His grace and love will become visible and evident in our lives daily and our faith will show itself in our actions (James 2:17,... Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

THE VICTORIOUS CHRISTIAN LIFE

• A mother bird is sitting on the nest hatching her eggs. One day the eggs crack and the baby birds are born. Weak and without feathers they might sound like birds, but they don't look like real birds, do they? They are hungry and greedily gobble down what the parents feed them. Inside, they are identical to their parents and will sooner or later learn to fly. This is their true purpose, not to stay in the nest forever or be stolen and eaten, or even worse, fall out and be trampled on.

This illustration may help us to understand what the Christian Life is about. As our Saviour, Jesus has given us new birth. He wants us to triumph over sin and be free like the birds in flight, carried by the air current on the ups and downs of life. Some Christians "learn to fly" from the first day. They simply trust the Lord to carry them through. They follow Him faithfully and experience the thrill of being free from SIN. They are victorious. Others take a lot of time to grow Spiritually. They don't easily understand what the Lord tells them in His word and needs a lot of attention until they fully grasp the Victorious life in Christ. Still others are forever "clinging to the nest". When will they put their faith into practice? Why don't they "learn to fly"? They have no victory over sin, and no one can tell the difference between their life now and before.
They have not understood the real purpose of being a Christian.
The question is: What is the difference between the life of a Christian and a non - Christian? Are we Christians because we don't Smoke, we are not Corrupt, we go to Church on Regularly, we read our Bible, etc? Surely these things are part of the Christian Life. But the root of new life lies in the fact that  Christ lives in us and we in Him! (Galatians 2:20 says "

 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

2 Corinthians 6:16 - 18 says"

 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

1 John 5:3 - 4 says"

 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."

Praise God! He gives us other promises too that help us to live a life of victory.

Romans 6:14 says"

 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

2 Corinthians 2:14 says"

 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

"Always," says the Holy Bible, not just sometimes, e.g. on good days!

Our is the victory of Christ.

What else helps us to live victorious lives? Our Faith! says the Holy Bible. Our Salvation is a gift. We cannot achieve victory in our own strength.

Romans 1:14 says"

 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live (a victorious life) by faith.

THE SECRET OF A VICTORIOUS LIFE - IDENTIFICATION WITH CHRIST

 Praise God, we can know the secret of a victorious life!

• We need to become like Christ (identify with Him) in His death. (Romans 6:6 - 7 says"
  
   Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
   For he that is dead is freed from sin." 
  • We need to become like Christ (identify with Him) in His burial. (Romans 6:4a says"
    
     Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

    • We need to become like Christ ( identify with Him) in his ressurection! (Romans 6:4b, 5 says"
      
       Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:"

      • As a results of all these, we share or identify Ourselves with Christ's present triumphant life. (Romans 6:6b says"

        2 Corinthians 5:15 says"
        

         And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

        Colossians 1:27 says"

         To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

          

        Again: The secret of a victorious life is the indwelling Christ living in the heart and life of each believer. Christ wants to become the Lord and Master in each believer's life. 

        
        

        Reasons why we might lose the battle against SIN;

        Inspite of the wonderful facts stated above, here are some reasons why we Christians might still be  facing a losing battle:

      • If we deny that it is possible in today's world to live a victorious life.

      • If we still "love or cherish" some sins and are not willing to let them go. It means, we do not allow Christ to be Master of our lives.

      • If our worship is man - centred as opposed to God - centred. Our aim is should not be to impress and manipulate God, in order to get out of Him what we desire, but to glorify Him.
      
      
      •  If we try in our own strength to be model Christians by participating in certain Church rituals. We want to impress others by praying more, fasting more, reading the Holy Bible more, giving more, etc.
      
      
      • If we are proud of our achievements like the Pharisee Saul who thought that obeying the Law would meet the requirements for righteousness. (Philippians 3:9 says"
         And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
          
        THE RIGHT APPROACH TO WINNING THE BATTLE
        
        
    • Christians need to yield or offer their lives to Christ. This is not something that happens once for all. NO! We need to daily remind ourselves that we belong to Christ. We do not belong to ourselves anymore or to the World with all its Lusts or Satan. (Romans 6:13 says"
      
      ¹³ Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God."
      •  The Choice is OURS! Do you want to live a life of defeat in SIN or a life of Victory? (Romans 6:16 says"
        
         Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"
      I do trust that all our hearts' desire is to lead a life in Obdience, Righteousness and Holiness.

AND ONE LAST QUESTION
WHAT SHALL WE DO IF WE HAVE FAILED CHRIST AND FALLEN INTO SIN?

 Shall we give up? Shall we deny that we have committed SIN? Shall we say, "Never mind, just froget it and move on in life? " The answer is, "NO and NO again!"
Remember, 1 John 1:19 is still TRUE, which says"

 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Christ does not fail us. Our fall does not weaken Christ. He will forgive us and use our fall to strengthen us against similar failures. Do not rely on PAST VICTORIES!

Always rely on Christ alone! He IS our Victory!!! Amen.

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION AND NOW IS THE OUR OF YOUR VISITATION, BELOVED!

TO GET ALONG AND BEGIN A NEW AND LIVING LIFE WITH GOD THROUGH CHRIST JESUS, PRAY THIS PRAYER FROM THE DEPTHS OF YOUR HEART, MEANING EVERY SINGLE WORD THAT COMES OUT OF YOUR MOUTH:

 

REPENTANCE PRAYER: 

Precious Jesus, 

I acknowledge today that you are LORD and savior of all mankind, 

and today I have recognized my shortfall,

I repent and turn away from all sin. 

Please cover me with your precious blood, 

and establish your word in my life,

that I may be found in righteousness and holiness 

and write my name in your book of life 

and baptize me with the power of the Holy Spirit

IT'S YOUR STORY!

This story is the greatest story of all time. It's a love story and a tragedy, rolled up into one. It's your story, and it's my story, and at the same time, it's God's story. God has already done so much for you, but you need to decide whether you live happily ever after in HEAVEN!

ALL CREATION IS HIS WITNESS

The Universe we live in is enormous and we cannot even begin to measure its vastness. Millions of galaxies whose sheer size go way beyond our widest dreams. Equally fascinating, though, is what we can see here on Earth.

The Bible shows us an interesting reality. It shows us a loving God who created everything; from the endless universe to the tiny ant, the dolphin, the girrafe - and He also made you and me.

         HE CREATED PEOPLE TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. Genesis 1:26 - 28,... And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 2:8,... And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

  Genesis 3:8 - 10,... And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

TRAGEDY STRIKES

The greatest drama in the history of mankind happened right at the start. Human beings chose to separate themselves from their loving Creator and go their own way.

Genesis 2:16 - 17,...  And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Genesis 3:6 - 11,... And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 

We can see the consequences of this in our own time: instead of living in peace and harmony with each other, we see hatred, jealousy, sickness and war. But the scariest of all these tragedies is our ETERNAL SEPARATION FROM GOD!

Since then, we have been looking for happiness and inner peace. But how many people in the world have had great dreams and high expectations, only to see these deams burst like a bubble? Whether we search for happiness through MONEY, SUCESS, RECOGNITION, FAMILY OR RELIGION, we are often left with nothing but EMPTINESS!

You have been created to glorify God and enjoy Him. We can only find true freedom and happiness in a relationship with God.

THE GREATEST LOVE STORY OF ALL TIMES

God has already performed the greatest act of love mankind has ever seen. And He did it for you. 2000 years ago, Jesus came into this world.

Everything about Him was extraordinary: His birth, His life, His death and His ressurection. He was unique.

He never wrote any books, but more books have been written about Him than about anyone else - ever. The number of lives He has changed is staggering. But most importantly, this man declared His identity as the Son of God! Luke 22:70 says" Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.

Matthew 26:63 - 64,.. But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

John 14:6,...Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 8:32,... And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

His Life had such power to it, and the things He said and did were so radically different from anything that had been said or done before. He loved the people that were scorned by society, like lepers and prostitutes. His life and His teaching still influence our lives today, 2000 years after He walked the Earth!

And let's not forget the miracles: He changed water into wine, healed the deaf, the blind and the lame and even raised the dead.

CRUXIFICION

Jesus was the only person to have ever lived a perfect life. (Hebrews 4:15,... For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.)

His name means "the lord saves" and His death on the CROSS was all part of God's plan to SAVE us. Jesus said that we should be PERFECT, just as the FATHER is PERFECT! (Matthew 5:48,... Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.) 

We should love God with all our heart and love our neighbour as ourselves.

Jesus made it clear that mankind could never bridge the GAP to God - we can never live up to God's requirements and that's why we're in such a MESS. God is a Holy God who demands perfection and cannot tolerate SIN! The holy Bible says that the consequence of SIN is DEATH. (that is, the physical deterioration of human body and the worst part being the damnation of HELL and the LAKE OF FIRE, Matthew 10:28, says"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

Revelation 20:11 - 15, says"
 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

Romans 3:23, says^"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23, says"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus came in to restore the BROKEN CONNECTION between God and mankind. Jesus loves you with a never failing, ending love; He gave everything for you. He took the punishment for your SINS that would ortherwise SEPARATE you from God!

John 3:16, says"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

 THE GREATEST EVENT IN HISTORY

On the third day, God raised His Son from the dead. And through His ressurection, death has been conquered forever. Because He came back to life, He is the Son of God. He is alive today and you can know Him. (1 Corinthians 15:3 - 4 says" For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Mark 16:9 says"Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. 

 

 1 Peter 1:3 - Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Romans 10:9 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

John 11:25 - Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Acts 17:31 - Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by [that] man whom he hath ordained; [whereof] he hath given assurance unto all [men], in that he hath raised him from the dead.

Romans 8:11 - But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Romans 6:4 - Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

1 Corinthians Chapter 15:3 -4

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 15:20, says"But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

1 Corinthians 15:57 says"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  God longs for you to be reconciled to him. Jesus wants to come into your life and forgive your sins and give you ETERNAL LIFE. If you want Him to do this and make you an child of God, then pray to God now:

 Blessed Jesus I believe you are the Son of God.

I believe that you died on the cross of Calvary for my sins. Please forgive me and come into my heart and life. I believe that you rose from the dead and are alive today and I accept you into my life as my personal LORD and only SAVIOR. Dear LORD, I ask that you feel me with the power of the Holy Spirit to guide and direct me in all my ways. I will follow you always.Amen!

Romans 10:9 says"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:13 says"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

1 John 1:9 says"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.”   Isaiah 53:

• Bible: Read God's word everyday you walk with God in faith, so that you can get to know JESUS better.
• Church: Find a church which can help you find out more about JESUS CHRIST.
